Detroit batters. He gave up just 4 hits and no walks in 7 innings lowering
his ERA to 2.61. Tampico ended up with 10 hits for the game while Detroit
had 4.
The losing pitcher was John Lackey(0-2). Mike Wilson was upset after the
game. 'I don't like to complain but did you see that umpires strike zone?',
he said. 'Maybe they ought to start calling the strike zone the way it's
printed in the rule book.'
